A good friend of mine has had this sitting in the garage for a while now, acquired randomly from a local race shop years ago.

There's no distinguishing brand identifications, but there is a few cast marks pictured.

Any help would be awesome, thanks in advance TCL!

If it is a 4a-fe or a 7a-fe it came in a 90's Corrola or another Taco about the same size. Not much power, and doesn't like to rev. They are econoboxes. The 7a-fe is a 1.8, the 4a-fe is a 1.6, but they are the same. My friend has a 97 4a-fe. 45mpg, 270k+ miles, 0-60 real quick (way over 12 seconds). Its honestly an amazing engine. Its just ironic than a race shop would have one. It could be a 4a-ge.
