I love how they sound like tractors haha. Really jealous love the setup!
Oh I know I always will love the sound of these motors. I told my bosses who make fun of my vws that soon you'll hear a tractor and trailer pulling in and it's my little VW lol

We changed the injectors and it's running smooth now. I hope soon it'll be on the road

No real big updates. Today I removed the injection pump in place of a TD pump. Just don't understand why it won't fire up right. And when it does fire up it sounds like a cammed gas car so I removed the old pump and now the new one is on. Waiting on my brother to do timing again for me then I'll have it running hopefully on the road after this. Might go ahead and change glow plugs to make sure they're ok while I'm at it. Hopefully updates soon!

Not much to update other then the motor runs cars driving and I drove it to my brothers shop for the exhaust and inspection. Runs great but he went to take it to dollar general and I guess the intermediate shaft quit running so that's an issue I have to fix. Hope it's just a bolt fell inside and clogged it up or else I'm screwed.

Some random photos.

Exhaust is 2.25 from the motor all the way straight piped into a 3in at the end.

Hopefully once she's a daily driver I'll work on painting it.

The motor had new bearings put inside of it so I have no clue why this hiccup happened. Let's hope it was just a bolt fell down inside. Which it's hard not to drop stuff inside of there. Needless to say that covers going on for good now.

I actually love the passenger side of the car and you walk around to the driverside and its primered and I believe it's sanded too ): I've always wanted a patina Rabbit but the fact the driverside is like that idk if it's possible

Not much new other then she won't fire up in the low teens temperature we've seen a low of -6 here. Never got to install a block heater either.

But good news is she's getting painted second week of March and the color will be slate grey metallic base and clear. Scored on the cost to paint it so I took the deal.

Next on my list is find some wheels after paint. Idk if I wanna lower it just yet unless I can score on some used coils.

A bad update has arrived. While on my way to work I heard a horrible sound so immediately shut the car off while running (good sign) and coasted it to my work. When I got off I looked at the timing belt and it was loose as hell and further inspection showed the bolts holding the pump bracket on vibrated out (no loctite) foolish mistake I know. I'm gonna pay for the mistake but this might be a good thing too.

Needless to say the Pistons drove the valves into the cups smashing them cups to smithereens. Cam didn't get hurt badly except a little knick but I'm throwing that out.

I never installed an AAZ gasket like I originally wanted to as the time I didn't have the money but now I do and it's going to get that gasket. While I'm at it im gonna get my probe welded on my exhaust for my pyrometer and this new head is going to be port and polished which I also didn't have the money to do.

I might even try wiggling this VNT 17 turbo off my brother (; while I'm at it.

But she is getting painted very soon supposed to be at the guys shop this weekend so I spent all day sanding and here's my results. So far I got the hood and roof done and most of the driver side done

i actually took my hood roof and hatch to bare metal and por'd them
Hmm that's a good idea but it took all I could to get it down to where it's at. I've noticed it's going from base to a red layer down to white primer. Strange them the rest of the car is top layer then primer. I found a sticker that this thing had a rust coating package sprayed from the factory. I think that's why this thing is in such good shape body wise
