Hello never knew about this forum til recently so i havent even lurked yet. I have an 01 mk4 and compete heavily in car audio. Ive always maintained a smaller trunk style setup but due to getting older and building a new house i decided to do one big build in it since its going to be awhile before i can do anything crazy like this again. My issue is that its going to have over 1000Lbs over the rear axle. Anybody have any experience with add on air bags in the rear? Not so much worried about adjustability and or comfort just the improved ride height in spite of the added battery and sub weight. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

These cars have a rear beam, not axle btw. Anyways, check out the technical forum as there's an airbag suspension forum that'd probly help you out more than here. An welcome [emoji112]

What motor do you have? You could probably swap in vr springs/shocks in the rear and be fine.

It has the 2 liter with the 600a of alt option. :) Bought it for a work car but sold my jeep shortly after i got it since i liked it that much more than expected. As was stated above i realize i dont have a physical rear axle im just using the term for illustrative purposes. Id prefer to avoid a spring swap since i know i will likely upgrade/downgrade again at some point but like the ability to adjust ride height as needed. So im really set on the bags.

Check the sticky at the top of the page. I know there was a thread about a guy who did it. I can't recall his name but he was a moderator of this forum.
