So I'm about to start shopping for my next GTI--it'll be number 5! Currently driving a '13 base model (2D, 6M) --In fact all of them have been the 'base model'. I always thought the most value for the buck was the stripped down GTI. Until now--VW adds the PP, and I must have that just for the LSD. Also considering a lease for the first time, so not sure how difficult it'll be to lease an S w/PP only. Any thoughts?

Also, im getting older, and probably should be shopping buicks or hondas or something more boring, but was also considering the DSG, and if I go that route, why not add the lighting package and drivers package, right?

Question to anyone who hase an S DSG w/PP and Lighting & Drivers packages--was it worth it? Both of them? Do it again? Skip it?

So i have a s with pp and LP manual and im leasing it. I think the LP and PP are worth every penny. I love the big brakes and how agressive it looks also the LSD is a HUGE plus for me. I was able to lease mine as well. Had zero issues with it. also never settle. Hondas n buicks are cool but you know everytime you see a gti you will go "man i wish..." so do it. Get both. Im a manual person because i just love the feeling of control. the dsg is nice but a bit tame to me.

I'm strongly considering an S w/ the performance package and LP as well. I checked dealer stock on Long Island and wasn't thrilled with the prospects. Was hoping for a manual 4door and carbon steel. My gf has a white MKVII so can't get white and my current car is black but don't want another black car.

I hope I won't have to order it to spec.

I picked up a GTi/PP 4dr S DSG/LP, thrilled with it so far. The PP and Lights are well worth it.

For me it's the perfect spec GTi. Maximum factory built 2wd performance: least LBS, lowest CG, and greatest shell stiffness. I had no interest in the fake leather on the SE, no need for the Fender Stereo. As much as I enjoy a sunroof in the short term, not having an expensive hole in the roof is something that makes sense if you plan to keep the car long term as I do. The LSD and brakes enhance and already great base car. The DSG is a great option if you use the car in traffic during a commute. The lights are simply fantastic.

As for the drivers package: The only thing I'd find the least bit useful is the camera. I didn't order my car, if it came with the DP I would have bought it. I'm delighted not to have it.

If you can find an S optioned this way jump on it.
