Latest Golf R news for Canadians

really the only features I truly wish these cars came with are memory mirrors and seats given that my wife drives the car a couple days a week while I work from home... Pita to always have to recalibrate everything 3-4 times a week

I'm in the same boat. We're hoping with the DSG that we can find a seat position that will work for both of us. If she forgets to push the seat back in our Jetta I smash my knees on the dashboard getting into the car. :(

hahaha! I will have some posted tomorrow bud. I wish I was friggin home to go and take her out but unfortunately this is not the case. I was talking to the GM and I told him he isn't allowed to joy ride in it and there better not be more than 10 km on the car when I get home haha.

Of course the car had to come the day after I left for work! I guess the good news is all the boring paperwork will all be done and it's a simple handshake and I get to drive away.

nice...looking forward to the pics...the first 9 set sail this friday so they should be on rail by the 8th of august...so i am hoping for the 17th which is a friday.

6MT right? or were you DSG?

I got the DSG :)

Well my car arrived earlier than even the dealer expected. The final date was supposed to be the week of August 3rd so maybe you guys will get lucky and get it two weeks earlier like me:D

Just ordered

I just ordered a Golf R from Quebec City.

Reflex Silver / DSG

I opted out of the tech package, it had some cool features but didn't justify the 2k bump IMO. The only thing I wish that there was an option for 18" wheels. Montreal has terrible roads and 18s would have been a better option. Maybe I'll swap them for aftermarkets.

In any case, October can't come soon enough!

Exactly what I did for the exact same reason i.e. Montreal, LOL.

You'll love the silver, 2 days of driving in crappy weather and the dirt barely shows. [emoji41]

October?

I would think next March for that order. Most who ordered in February of 2015 are expecting deliveries in October.

I emailed the dealer in QC asking if they can get one for October for when my current lease ends. A salesman called me Monday and said they can do October, they had one allocation left or something. I thought about it and called back today to give a deposit. Montreal dealers said December minimum that's why I ordered from Quebec City. At least it will be a fun drive home.

I also got my stage 2 email on the 16th, so both our Rs will be on the same boat. Hopefully they reach Halifax earlier than that estimate though (I'm hoping before beginning September - fingers crossed). Some members on the forum got their stage 2 production email on June 25th, and those cars leave Germany this Friday (the 24th), I think. So maaaaaybeeee ours can be on the boat mid-August!?!!
