So I am sure this has been covered but I was looking for basically a list of everything I will need to put every option that came on the 2004.5 GLI into my wagon. Here is what I know of so far
Interior:
Radio Trim
Climate Control Trim
Grab Handles
Pedal Covers
Seats
Parking Brake Handle
Ash Tray Cover
Shifter Cover
Cluster
Exterior:
Wheels, BBS RC?
I know the door and bumper moldings are chrome but I'm not gonna do that

That's pretty much all I can think of, the only areas I am unsure of at the moment are exterior trim or skirts, grille or badges, any kind of electrical switch.

If anyone has any information I would greatly appreciate anything you have to tell me. Thanks in advance!

Pic of how the car looks now

The console trim may require a whole new bracket as well, but I am not sure.

You will need a Votex body kit and sourcing one OEM is not cheap. Don't forget paint, because your blue was not a GLI colour. Badges, tail lights, and headlights too. Also the 02M 6 speed, factory sport suspension, brakes(can be gotten from 337/20th/180TT), and the GLI torsion bar, it's got an internal sway bar or some ****.

Inside, you also need the 3 spoke wheel, door cards, armrest delete, black headliner(will have to be custom), brushed handles, and updated centre console. Not to mention other black interior parts.

There is more than meets the eye when it comes to converting to a legit GLI, by the time you get there, a lot more could have been done. I hate to say it, but your best bet is going to be finding a donor GLI. There are plenty of part-outs that happen in the classifieds. Remember you can source from the 2002 337, 2003 20th AE, and mechanically from the 180hp FWD Audi TT as well.

Exterior:
Chrome mouldings
Lip kit (Front/rear valences, side skirts)
GLI badge in grille and on trunk
Headlights
Sport suspension (slightly lower)
BBS RC wheels

Drivetrain:
6 speed o2m transmission
23mm front sway bar
Thicker torsion bar in rear beam
Bigger brakes front & rear

Interior:
Black headliner
GLI recaro seats
gray piped floor mats
brushed aluminum interior bits (radio cage, door pulls/handles/pins)
shift knob
headlight switch

there may be some things missing but i THINK i got everything.

Yea I just bought some of the brackets the other day haha, need to find a sedan carpet in decent shape or just cut holes in my current wagon carpet. Going to swap in some black cloth seats from a sedan for now as i have them lying around. No GLIs in my area that are being parted :/

Haha Thanks! I hope I can show some progress, although it may be slow, broke college student and hard to find parts are a great combo :p Ill use this thread for any progress

Basically everything from the GLI will work except is the headliner, rear bumper, tail lights, and rear door cards. Rear seats are easy thanks to the above link.

I am building something similar, but going to use a Golf front end and upgrade to a GTI/R32 type front bumper later.

Yea I have thought about going with a golf front end to give it the euro look. I am too big of a fan of the jetta headlights though :D

Found a few small pieces at the junk yard, nothing fancy and they have a few blemishes but will work for now

Also this car started with a complete grey interior and will probably slowly change to black and then to GLI.

Try some good cleaner and plastic conditioner, if that doesn't work, get some plastic paint, the stuff's works very well.

I like them on a sedan, but for some reason, a golf front end just looks better, IMHO of course, :p
