i've been running my car without the ASR on, and i've noticed an increase in gas milage. i usually average 300 miles on a full tank,. since i've been turing it off, it's gone up to 320-330. has anyone else noticed this?

Gee, it would seem that miles per tank is a pretty vague method of keeping track, as it is subject to the vagaries of the fuel gauge. Do you actually see the same number of gallons for every fill up? It would seem miles per gallon would be a bit more accurate, although a tad more work to track. i.e. over 45K miles my average has been 26.5 MPG, with a high of 30.5 and a low of 23.2. 20-30 miles difference on a tank is likely a little over 2 MPG variation. But I guess your point is does ASR affect fuel mileage? difficult to tell I'll bet ... driving style certainly can affect it more than that ![]() |

I don't understand how ASR can change gas mileage

It doesn't. The difference is easily within the margin of error for differences in traffic conditions and driving style. |
