I've read the posts and everything that say where the fuel filter location is and I've changed the fuel filter on many other vehicles and know that it should bee right in front of the rear passenger tire..however I was looking for it to change it the other day and I could not find it. I loosened the plastic covering on the passenger side in the rear and didn't see the filter.

Has anyone done this on this on their gas engine Passat that is 2012 or newer?? And if so post a picture of possible?

The flange//filter is in the fuel tank, and is much easier to change compared to the older cars that have the filter in line under the car. To access the flange//filter remove the bottom part of the back seat, the flange/filter is in the seat well on the passenger side. Then remove the retainer, exchange the old with the new unit, put the retainer back in place, put the rear seat back in. All this can be done in less time than getting the car jacked up! The flange//filter also contains the fuel level sensor and I think one could just could replace just rplace the actual filter without having to get the whole flange//filter.

Thanks for this. I will check it out and I hope it's a DIY thing like you have indicated.

Does the same thing go for the 2014 VW Passat TSI SE? I looked under the car as well and didn't see any fuel filter. I Just seen the fuel line run down towards the front then disappeared up in the frame. I ordered the entire fuel pump and am going to swap it out tomorrow. But if the fuel filter is connected to the fuel pump then I don't need to look for a fuel filter right?

Also I shopped for my fuel pump off of Carparts.com. I bought mine for $108.00

I know it's cheap and with cheap stuff comes cheap quality, but if it works for more then 6 months I'll let you all know.

Hope that website helps any one.
