The 3rd and 4th part down actually replaces the cable ends and will make a big difference in shifter feel.

Replacing shifter cable bracket bushing with aluminum bushing will clean up the play as well

All of that is moot, as he has the MY99.5 with the 02A shifter, which is a carrover from the MkIII.

I guess it would depend on what you're planning on using the car for and how deep your pockets are.
