      I have a Harbor Freight 1/2" impact running on a little 6 gallon compressor. Right now all the SRS BSNS mechanics are cringing, but for how slow I work at home, it refills long before I need it again.
      
      Impact wrenches use a lot of air but it's not continuous, so you actually can get away with a compressor that flows less air than the gun uses. You bust off a nut :laugh: and then you put it down. It's different in a pro shop, of course, but at home that's how I use it.
      
      I didn't buy the wrench expecting to be able to use it on that small compressor at all.
      
      The wrench is this one, it's a straight copy of an Ingersoll-rand.

      Same for me, but I picked up a 25gal Craftsman compressor for mega cheap off craigslist. It seemed like there were tons of ads where the seller either never used them or were moving or something. I'm not a pro and this setup works just fine for busting a nut here and there.
      
      CSB: Make sure you have the proper electric circuit to run one of these. When I went to view the compressor I bought I had the seller turn it on to make sure it ran. He kept clicking it on but it wouldn't run. He got super frazzled and apologized for wasting my time. *This is where I should have low balled and taken the thing for $20. Like an idiot though I suggested that maybe he tripped a circuit breaker by trying to run it with too many other things. He runs to the breaker, flips the switch, and voila I'm paying full price... :facepalm:
