I bought a pioneer ts-wx1210a sub with built in amp and noticed the wiring harness it came with has 18 gauge power and ground. I bought 8 gauge wire and was wondering why it came with such small wire? Also is it safe to connect them considering the size difference?

Looked everywhere for a stealthbox that will fit in the trunk of a Passat GT. All I can find is ones for the B5 or B6 platform. It’s a damn shame cause there’s a perfect spot for one. Does anybody know where I can at least get an enclosure or am I going to have to go custom?
