I want to change the ATF in my 2000 GTI 4-speed auto. I have 78k miles on this rig, & I feel like the fluid should be changed. I do not have access to a VAG-COM system, and I have 3 questions:
1) Exactly how much fluid does it take, if I drain & remove the pan, & replace the filter?
2) I know it doesn't meet any VW specs, but can I use Mobil 1 and/or Quaker State "Q" synthetic ATF? Both meet the Dexron/Mercon III specs.
3) If neither of the above fluids are acceptable, which fluids do you guys recommend?
