I'm on my 8.8k miles. Changed oil at 5.5k using Mobil1 15-50. Used up 1 quart already. Is this normal? This is a "brand new" car and I can't believe that it's already burning oil. Please help or any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

Whoa.....I wouldn't be using synthetic so soon, personally. I'm sticking with dino oil until 15,000 to be sure everything seats and is broken in properly. (10,000 is supposedly minimum from what I've heard).
I'm no expert, but i'm fairly sure one will chime in soon.

I used my initial consumption to determine my switch to synthetic. I didn't do my first change till 6800. The consumption was down to near nill then, so I started with Amsoil 5W-30 synthetic. I use about .5l/5000 miles now.
Why are you using 15W-50??? do you live in hell? That is way too heavy for the V6... your milage must suck.
