Anyone have experience with Ko4 and its reliability and performance, if so any times for the 1/4 mile. Also I have seen the kit from Neuspeend for about $2000. Now I have been sifting through some old posts and have seen some group buys for $795 from a jaime. Anyone get one through hime and was it a smooth transaction. How many hours for professional installation.
Any response is appreciated-Thanks

Re: 1/4 mile #'s for Ko4 with basic mods/ is it worth it? (brock24)

CAn't speak for reliability (mine's only been on since Dec 01) but 13's should be within your reach. Tyrolkid has done a 13.4 I believe w/a K04 and other basic mods - methinks that he is something of a drag king in view of the fact that he is still running a stock clutch
drm916 and 9vw23yrs both have over 200 hp at the wheels so you can see that there are significant improvements (use the search - put a * in the subject field and their names in the creator field and you should be able to track the 2 of them down).
Neuspeed's kit is a bit pricey - the K04 is available for as little as $795 (www.mjmturbos.com) but you will get nailed for the software. Pick up this month's Euro-Tuner magazine for a pretty good break-down of your K04 options. Another option is here: http://www.evoms.com/PDF Files/VW Jetta Golf 18T.pdf - it includes all the basic upgrades you are looking for.
As far as the install - a good mechanic should be able to do it in 2-4hrs.

Hello. I would definately say it is worth it if you get a good enough price. The install tok me a bit more than 4 hours....but a good/fast mechanic can probably swap the turbo in a little over 4 hours. If you are ever in the Atlanta area...I will give you a ride in my K04 jetta....and I just installed NOS this last weekend....

I said "good"
By that I mean someone who has done it before, has all the right tools, and isn't trying to get it done by candlelight in someone's driveway - you definitely got it!

Your install thread definitly help me out. Shhhh, don't tell anyone but it took me about 10 hours. The only help I had was the supervision of a four year old German Shepard.
