We have a 2002 1.8T Golf, we are having multiple codes being set off on a regular basis.
P1542-angle sensor for throttle acuator
P1579-throttle actuator adaption not started
P1297-pressure drop between turbo & throttle valve
P1171- angle sensor 2 for throttle acuator
P0300- randon multiple misfire
P0301-Cyl 1 misfire
P0302-Cyl 2 misfire
P0303-Cyl 3 misfire
P1128- fuel trim bank 1 system too lean
P0304- Cyl 4 misfire
P0507 - idle control system RPM; higher then expected
P1176- bank 1 O2 (lambda) correction behind catalyst: control limit reached
P1545-throttle valve controller malfuntion: intermittent
As you can see there is a lot of codes and they all come back on a regular basis.
We have removed the throttle valve and cleaned it (was not really dirty)
We have also replaced the spark plugs (fouled)
We adapted the throttle body to the car using a VAG com
We have checked the electrical and no signs of damage or problems in the wiring
We are at a loss as to where to go next....each time we clear the codes, adapt the throttle body and check everything over, the codes all come back with in 200 miles. We are very familir with vw's and vag com and have never had a vehicle with this much going on repeatedly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 1.8 T multiple codes - repeatedly- pla help (kenachristine)

I had most of the same codes only a few months ago. Took it to the dealer against my better judgement and they tried to charge me $900+ for a new throttle body to be installed. I just ended up buying a used one for about $60 on EBAY and dropped it in, erased the codes... now works like a champ. Give it a shot
