1.8T 20v head onto a ABA 2.0 block, will this work ?

Please provide some accurate advice, and knowledge about fitting a 20v 1.8T head onto my 2.0 ABA 8v block. Also, I'm looking for a 1.8T motor, with or without wiring.
Thanks

there is a guy selling a 1.8t from a 2000 jetta in the classifieds and from what i was told a 1.8t head could fit on a newer 2.0 bottom end as a direct bolt on but i don't have the specifics sorry!!!

Newer 2.0 bottom end meaning MK4, or MK3 ?

It fits on either. MkIV block has the correct oil returns so those need not be filled in the head but block is harder to fit in some chassis.

works on ABA too. Mine is running proof of that.
There are some minor mods to the head to make it work but other than that its very doable. Just make sure youve got plenty of $$$ cuz parts add up fast.
