Is there a running change on the 1.8T jetta? I saw a brand spanking new one w/cardboard plates driving out of a dealer that has 4 motion valance and exposed tips! If so SWEET!

I don't think it's a 1.8t. Are you sure it wasn't an Audi A4?

It was a Jetta 1.8t coming out of Advantage VW even had cardboard plates.

I can call and find out. Probably they just ordered the VW valence and had it put on along when they bought it from the Aftermarket shop.

Drive back there and look under the car

It's true it's true. I went to the vw dealership today and I asked where the 02's were parked and I went and I saw.. A 1.8t Jetta GLS with a straight exhaust (nothing too special), w/4 motion rear valence. Only on the 1.8t though. Not the VR6 or the 2.0. So hopefully, we'll be able to order these soon cheaper. I know I want one... to match my forced motion!

There is no such thing as a 4motion jetta... I sell for VWs...trust me.
We did just get our first TDI jetta wagon though....
Re: 1.8T jetta w/4 motion from factory? (kardinal)

i thought the word was that there was going to be a running change in '02 to 6-speed trannys and the exposed valence thing-y...
i think there would be quite the fanfare going on if they were 4motion, though
Re: 1.8T jetta w/4 motion from factory? (kardinal)

There are 4-motion Jettas, just not in the US. Typical VW dealer lack of knowledge.

He's right there is no such thing as a 4-Motion Jetta.
However, there is a 4-Motion Bora in Europe

No the jettas are not 4motion.. They just have the rear valence (dealer calls em spoilers sometimes) of the 4motion's from overseas. The 4motion valence has a cutout for straight exhaust tips as opposed to the normal tips the curve down before the black plastic rear valence we're used to.

I never said it was a 4-motion Jetta , just that a 1.8T Jetta had a 4-Motion valance from factory

Oops, forgot the "Valance" word, that what I meant, my bad
Re: 1.8T jetta w/4 motion from factory? (9VW23yrs)

I don't doubt that there is a spoiler that may be a running change (or a dealer change), but your subject line says w/4 motion from factory... and yes, I know those exist in Europe
