I'm trying to help a friend who picked up a beater 02 golf manual w/80K miles on dirt cheap but **** doesn't start.
As title states I need to change sensor but need help finding it? Is there a diy??
I have a B6 so there is a write up for that(DS below and behind oil filter on trasmission housing)

Is it the same for the transverse motor??
Also,
It had an Immoblizer code (17978-P1570)on key I tried(fob looked new).
I told owner to try other key(fob was worn out) and it still died.
I need to go back w/comp and check for code w/second key..
But I'm betting on sensor
