Can this be done....I have a friend that wants to do this. So basically he wants to run a 1.8 G60 bottom end, 16v head and still run the g-lader. Is this possible? If so....what needs to be done. Any advice would be nice. Thanks.

the g60 bottom end is low compression and the 16v head has a bigger combustion chamber so it works out to be waay too low of a CR to be useable

I don't know a lot about it, but it can be done using pistons from an audi 5 cyl 20v turbo. These are low compression, to suit the 4v head.

You can use those pistons if you swap to the superior 144 mm rods. If you need to keep the 136mm rods, pistons are made for that application. try Bahn Brenner, Kompressor Kanada, http://www.porttuning.com , etc.

You'll need to use a 16v intermediate shaft, oil pump drive gear, oil pump, and timing pulleys. Like they said before, it will drop compression with the G60 pistons, to about 6.6:1. You'll deffinatly need custom pistons or the pistons with rods from a 3B(audi 5cyl 20v t).
