I have a set of connecting rods and a crank (actually the whole engine) from a 1.8L 8v engine. I know the 1.8L 16v engine has the same length connecting rods and same stroke,
my question is, is the crank exactly the same?
and are the connecting rods the same?
I'm planning on doing a 16v swap in my jetta (I would be picking the engine up this weekend, except I ran into some unexpected expences) and if the internals are the same I'll just start work on what I have, so it'll be ready when I begin stripping down the 16v engine.
