I have a 1.8 16v running on motronic. when you first start the car it will rev all the way to the 7200 limiter as long as you want it to, but once you start driving down the road it hits the limiter at 5k, i read somewhere it could a speed sensor? if so where is that? or something else it could be, thank you

It's not a speed sensor.
Before you get all rev crazy, how old is your timing belt? Maybe your car is doing you a favor.

i had this problem with my 87 except at 4k it would rev fine when the clutch was in but once there was load on the engine it would limit at 4k or 4500 it was the fuel pump this might help it might not

alright ill chech that out, except after you drive it around once you stop it still hits the limiter at 5k in neutral
