17x7 or 17x8?

Will I notice the difference in handling? or will the extra weight be more noticable?

I just replaced my 17x7's with 17x8's and I'm not sure if it was the change of tires from pilot sports to potenzas or not, but the car seems to hold the road a bit better. At the very least it more noticable!

There will be no extra handling, because the tire isn't any wider.
