I just got these 17X8 rims with 205/40/17 toyo tires on them. I was wondering if it was going to fit my 95 Golf GL? I know this is probably a lame question, but it would definitely help me out with a quick answer. The car isn't dropped and it's completely stock.

It'll fit (as long as they are 4 lug)...but don't do it. 17x8 + stock height = lamesauce

Always lower a car before rims because even with stockies on it will look good, the wheels will fit as long as you got the right offset and bolt pattern. What kind of wheels are they?

i got 17x8's with a 205 40 17 tire and and i have a h and r cupkit and i rubbed alittle out back but i tapped in the fender a bit. it also would touch a few places in the front wheel walls but wore its grooove

a car which is stock height + stock rims = looks stock. meh.
a car which is stock height + rims = "I don't know what i'm doing with my car, but HEY! i got rims! gimme props! "
a car which is dropped + stock rims = "i know what i'm doing. i may not have rims, but i know that suspension is a bigger benefit than rims"
a car which is dropped + rims = "ok, now i know whats up"

I totally agree, but I got them for free. so im obliged to use them. The ASA AR1 rims. I also have these primax 4 lug 17X7 rims with 205/40/17. I was wondering how the ride quality is going to be.

sell them and get some suspension instead.
the only reason i'd rock them is if your tires are completely bald. Otherwise, just leave em in your garage until you can afford suspension.

its gonna ride like a stagecoach compared to stock. i have volk te37-17x8 with the 205/40s on mine. it rides hard, no matter the drop. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Everyone talks about dropping the car. I think the question is, how much is it to get them professionally done. I'm a poor med student and need instant gratification on many things without much money.
Also, how does a dropped car ride in snow and around the city. This is my commuter car so it would be nice not to worry much about it

i lived in bayside..right off douglaston parkway..then i moved to little neck, now i reside in fl..

..if i didnt live in fl id answer your snow question..so heres a bump..
