As the topic says... I need to find the right offset and tiresize to run 17x8s on a stock fender. My fronts are rolled, and my rears will hopefully be sooner than later. Im pretty low, well I have been with my 16s... and Id like to stay as low. Any Ideas??
Thanks,
Travis

I was thinking around a 35mm offset as well... however, my 16x7.5 has a 35mm offset and a rubbed like a bastard. That was with 205/45-16s...

35et 205/40, you will need to roll the back fenders. The rubbing you heard before was probably the tire hitting the front section of the rear fender.

205/45 on a 16" wheel is bit big if u wanna be low...when i had 16's i ran 195/45 never rubbed ever and i was low...you could barely fit your foot under my front lip. you might have to rise it a bit if u cant deal with the rubbing. a 16" wheel with a 205/45 has about the same hieght as a 17" with a 205/40...best of luck

205/40 with an offset of 35 and you should be a-okay!

If the wheels are custom you can order: 35mm front and 28mm rears no problem. 205.40.17 T1-S is what we recommend... http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

I just bought FK 17x8 with 35 mm offset and was also worried about tire rubbing but I got the same answer as you, 35mm offset is the ideal offset for mk3. I'm also runnin with 205/40r17 Toyo Proxes 4.

Unfortunately it was the mid section of the fender. I can tell because the rear fenders are constructed with 2 layers of metal (opposed to the front where its only one layer... Im sure you knew that though). Anyway, in the middle of my rear fenders(mostly my rear driver side) the two layers are spreading apart. This is why Im kind of concerned, cause this was happening with smaller whels... I imagine the outer diamer of the 205/40-17s will be similar to the 205/45-16s.
