I just bought a set of ATS Apollo 2 piece wheels for my dub but, I have to get H&R adaptor kit to fit the wheels (5x100 to 5x112). Is this going to be too wide for the car? I bought the wheels for a super sweet price (http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif) so I was willing to push the limits of the width limits of the car. Also with the outcome of the width does anyone think that I should just buy Bilstein Sports and the factory lowering springs so it will be lower but not to drastic...let me know what you think.

Re: (Red October)

ok...i stand to be corrected...they are either 35 or 40....i really don't know......i don't remember how offset works
. I bought them from a guy that had a B5 Passat and they fit nice on it. If it doesn't work out then I will just sell them to someone with a Passat or Audi. Thanks

Re: (Red October)

yeah with a 30 you need a 20mm adapter, and then the offset will be like 10, which is about 1 inch outside the wheel well, about 30 more or less is ideal for the front of a mark 4 vw, but the rear is anything more that about 18-20
so good luck glad to see you have some options http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Re: 18X8.5 wheels plus H&R adaptors....too wide for my fenders to old? (Red October)

I have a set of 18x8.5 wheels that had an offset of 35mm and then I used a 8mm spacer to clear the coils, so that ends up being a offset of 27mm which with a 225 series tire the wheel sticks out like 3mm but the curvature of the tire puts the tread under the fender so it looks perfect, a little poke but still not to crazy. So if you could get something like a total offset of anything from like 25mm to 30mm you should be fine.
