I'm having some problems with my 1996 Jetta I think. It seems like when I accelerate too fast the car like jerks. Once it jerks it gathers itself and drives normally. It's an automatic but when the car like shifts to the next gear or something it does it. I have no idea how to explain it really.
Also, when going down hills, the rpm seems to get suck at 3000 and I have to hit the gas to get them to go down. It seems like somethings sticking or not working right but I have no idea where to start looking.

Sounds like it's going to me. you can try a tranny fluid flush but i don't know if it will help, might just add to it's demise.

God that was my worst nightmare. What am I looking at price wise?

try new plug wires before you do anything major..
