Hey, no need to get your undies in a bunch. I wasn't aware that you had been learning this stuff for so long. I also don't deny what you wrote. I did some further reading and learned a bit. But with your attitude, you probably could care less.

Sorry I have been working on installing standalone in the turbo rado for two weeks now, and am a bit cranky

Aw, heck man... why didn't you say so? It's tough to read someone's emotions from words. I'd be pissed if I was having difficulty with something like that, too.
No problem. It's cool, then.
In the meantime, look what I found:
http://www.motor-oil-engineers.com/thankyou1.htm
It's a free e-book written by Dave Mann, a former Ford Engineer and Lubrication Specialist of over 19 years. There's more info than you can shake a stick at.

I really think you guys are putting to much expectation on the synthetic oil. Yes it's a good oil, but it's not a miracle oil.
You don't you have to wait 10k miles + to use it. Your car will still wear using it! It all depends on how you drive. I think after your first oil change, you should not have any problems using it. Stop with that "it wont let me wear right crap!" It will wear the same whether you use synthetic or not, but not as fast...
I just think you guys think to much. Put a geek/skeptic behind an idea and there goes the world...
You think those bigwig car manufacturers would use synthetic from factory if it were bad??? Sh*t no...
Just use it! One good thing about synthetic oil, it's perty thin, and hard to breakdown, which leads to a cleaner motor! IMO, I love to open up the oil cap and see shiny parts, especially after 40K miles...
