I am assuming that my 16v head (from a Passat) has hydraulic lifters?
If this is true, is there anything I needed to have (notice past-tense) taken into account differently from dissasembling a solid lifter head? Hopefully I have not damaged anything....

Thanks

Re: 2.0 16v head hydraulic? (rippinGTI)

Yes, it is a hydraulic head. There is nothing really different from disassembly of a solid head, just as long as you marked deverything and kept each, valve, lifter, and hardware together. If you did mix-up the lifters though don't lose any sleep, they say not to interchange them when you re-assemble the head but I've done it (oops!) and seen no ill-effects.

Thanks BreenMachine.
I did mix up the lifters, but have not removed the valves yet. When you said I should mark everything, is there anything I have to mark positionally (like the cam rotational position) before removal?
