Why would you want to rev it while standing still? What benefit does that give you if you're able to rev it to redline?

Kinda seems pointless to me but hey, maybe someone out here has an idea. :thumbup:

 

So I can rev it and not hear it ping off of the rev limiter. Why else would I do it? Its not a question of performance gain.

 

 

Just cut the purple wire on the injection pump. That's what I did.

 

Its called a tune from a professional company like C2,apr,unitronic ect. I would Check out C2, its like crack for your Rabbit.:banghead:

 

Ya c2 tune and it sounds best when you rev up to 6k on a cold start up a few times

 

I read somewhere that when VW made this 2.5 motor they made it rice proof, as to where you couldn't try to launch it at 6.5k rpm's and mess something up. But hey that's just what i huurrd, yo.



Try turning off the traction control and that will do it for ur car. :beer:

Factory tune won't allow left foot braking/heel, toe....also won't allow you to rev above 4 grand I believe... So to fix rev hang, and allow you to actually rev it you need a tune...

HOWEVER! you have zero reason to rev that high standing still... Especially if you are basically stock... Your car will only sound like a sewing machine... regardless of how high it revs sitting there you can't dump your clutch and burn... You also really can't get an idea of what the exhaust or intake sound like without the car under load...

 

my car is on stage 2 unitronic, and revs to 4k on N standing. whats the point of revvng to 7k on a light?

 

It won't be at a light-I'm not that kind of person. It's just a pet peeve. Turning off the traction control didn't work BTW.

Why? Just why would you be revving your car above 4k standing still? Give at least ONE good, valid reason as to why you would want to rev your car higher.

 

I don't have to give anyone a reason as to why I would want to rev higher. And I never said I want to rev to 7K. It's a questions of whether ot not it can be done and how it can be done. IDGAF about anyones oppinions otherwise. If you don't agree-don't post. But, for everyone who gave me a meaningful response, thank you.

don't even respond to posts that are off subject it just fuels the trolling. the answer to your question is no, you cannot remove the rev limiter without getting a tune. if you get a tune it will be gone though, and your car will be faster...

 

Well, I guess I was always intrigued by what C2 products had to offer. Now sounds like the time to find out......
