First question, I just installed the magnaflow SS catback system. Just want to know how loud is it gonna be w/ an aftermarket header (Brospeed ). What should I expect w/ the new header (performance wise). Please give me your opinion...
Second question, If I put the gear on neutral position and rev the engine to about 3-4k RPM then release it, why the exhaust sounds like holding back (it's not smooth). My friend told me it is the catalyst (sp?). what do you guys think.....

Re: 2 questions on header and exhaust system. (pdxvento)

It is getting quiet down a lot since 2 days ago, expecting to quiet down a lil' bit more then it would be perfect. it drones at 2k-2.75k RPM...but it's not that bad..overall superb exhaust system...
So what do you think about my next mods (header).... http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

At least they don't have them for obd2.

You could always have the other oxygen sensor fitting welded to the OBD-1 header. I've seen the fittings sold online somewhere...otherwise they bolt up the same.

I heard genie headers were the best ones for a vr6. Are they really worth it? NO picked up a pair used for 200. cost me about 350. to get them installed and performance gain not much. They said if your gonna go FI then its good to have other wise go cams.

Re: 2 questions on header and exhaust system. (O! VR6)

i have the Brospeed header for VR6. it is a bit louder but makes a big gain in performance. Brospeed claims that it adds 12% oh the engines HP. very nice sound! i paid $550. and i have Techtonics 2.5 stainless exhaust (very nice) and i got it at http://www.vwaftermarket.com http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

I'm running Brospeeds OBDI header on my OBDII. I welded the extra O2 fitting on the downpipe. I have heard that they now make an OBDII compatible header for the 2.0l's.
There is no significant noise gained from the header install. Most of audible tone is gained with your exhaust, which you've already done.
Performance wise, you lose a bit of low-end torque but gain some high RPM rev. The HP gain is minimal. Maybe 1-3 wheel HP.
