2001 GTI VR6 vs. 2000 Contour SVT

I asked this question on http://www.contour.org a couple days ago and got some real sensible answers from many and one annoying answer from a obvious "My car is better then your car" type guy. What do you guys think? Stock for stock, and he also said our hp drops off at redline and so does our torque. I am pretty sure I saw a dyno of a VR6 and it looked pretty strong. A 2000 Contour SVT has 205 hp and 165 tq, while the VR6 has 174 hp and 181 tq right? He says on the dyno there is almost no torque loss on the CSVT it stays around 158 which is what he says VR6 pull on the dyno in torque. Just though I would let the VR6 guys respond since the CSVT guys already had thier shot. Also recieved many good comments on our build quality. It was also funny how several guys wifes drive ATX Turbo GTIs.

Hey now the CSVT pulls .91 gs. Their handling is very very commendable and so is their high speed cruising. All cars have good and bad points.

I have nothing against a contour svt. IMO they are just as fast as a GTI VR6. It would all come down to driver I think. I would never buy one cause its a Ford but give them credit they are just as fast as our cars.

yea they're just as fast. I raced one in my MK3 and beat him by half a car
