My buddy put a new polished pipe and filter in his car (Acura CL) recently, and was told (by their forum) to disconnect the battery and reconnect it. The reason was that the ECU would re-learn his driving habits and behaviour, and also re-learn to tune itself to the new air filter.
Does this work? And would be apply to VWs as well? I'm planning to by the drop-in K&N for my car, and wonder if doing this will help out.
