2002 Jetta - Changer Install - Dummy Plug? Removal?

3206 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  bcruze
Hey guys, I know this topic has came up in the past but I haven't seen any pictures posted. I have a 2002 Jetta that I'm going to install a 610 into. I have the VW98PN6 adapter on order. Question is, do I have a dummy plug installed? I've seen forum posts that say some people have a dummy plug and some don't. I'm new to VW's and I just don't know what I'm looking at.
If anyone can help me out, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Re: 2002 Jetta - Changer Install - Dummy Plug? Removal? (JLJetta)

You know, 5min after I posted this I went and looked at the cable on the website and sure enough...looks just like it (below). Basically, I'm just worried about bending things when i push the tabs in and pull up. But again, looking at the cable, the pins are in the cable, not the mounted socket...so nothing to bend (unless I worry about the pins putting the thing back in.
) Thanks for the info.
