If it was built on the same chassis with the same powerplant I'd agree with you.

I'll just let your ignorance speak for itself.

Re: 2003 Pontiac Grand Am (TabulaRasa)

I think the N-body has a lot of potential. Especially its suspension. The very low unsrung weight due to the squeeze forged arms and knuckle allow lighter duty struts and less impacting ride. The ones I've driven ride great and with some athletic tuning would be even better!
Powertrain-wise... good for the majority of the buyers, but not me. I'd prefer they slap a blower/turbo on that Ecotec (a la Europe) and I'd be in hog heaven. Even better... take that HotWheels concept (that smoothed out the ribbing) and Getrag... I could be tempted. Oh wait... the interior is still too gawdy for me.
P.S. Yeah, the Impala and Monte... well, they need too much work to make half descent. Let Holden figure that one out!

LOL. Wouldn't going from a Grand Prix to a Grand Am be a step down?

Yep, but Grand Am is not built on the same platform as the Monte and Impala.

Yeah, I made a major faux pas confusing this thread with the one about the GP concept car.

Hehe. The Alero, Aurora, and Malibu also share the same chassis.
