I need to replace the tranny in my TDI. What are the interchange year/models (I assume Jetta, Beetle, don't there are any A3 in the US using the tranny)?
Must stick to TDI (GTI etc have different gear ratios I assume)?

You can change to any other transmission if you want , but you would need to flash the correct software on the mechatronic in order for it to work with your platform.
So if you have no knowledge of that , stick to the same gearbox model / code.
