Need Help!
I brought my 05 Passat Wagon into a VW dealership in Watertown,Ma to have them determine the cause of a rattling noise in the front end of my car when I make turns. The response was that the noise is due to failure of the CV joints as a result of the CV boots rupturing. The killer here is that neither the factory warranty (5yr/60,000 miles) nor the extended warranty will cover this repair. The service employee at the dealership explained that had the CV joints failed for any reason other than the boots rupturing that the repair would be covered by the VW Powertrain Warranty.
Has anyone had a similar experience and had success in getting VW to cover this repair?
Please share your story/any advice.
Thanks!
