My 2012 jetta has a 1.8 liter engine. I didn't think that this engine was offered in 2012. Is it engine swapped?

My 2012 jetta had a 2.0 diesel. I seem to remember they offered in usa 2.0 8valve gas motor and a 2.5 liter 5 cyl. sounds like you may have a "special" car..
1.8 is a great engine, so that's a bonus. are you sure it's a 1.8 block, not just a 1.8 plastic cover or 1.8 heads??

When I bought it it was listed as a 2.0 but I had it at a shop recently and they said it was a 1.8. They thought it was weird that it had a 1.8, that's why I thought it was engine swapped .

Do you know if the shop's opinion is factual? What evidence did they provide?
