Hi guys.
So I recently wrote off my old Ford and am in the market for a very basic, reliable little car. I have been looking at Jetta's and test drove this car today. It seemed in very good shape for the age, the KM are fairly low, and I didn't notice any glaring issues. I took it on the highway and noticed no vibration or issues. There is minor body scuffs/rust which I noticed but expected as per the age. I don't care about scuffs/paint chips, as long as it runs well. I am going to take it to a mechanic I know before purchasing, but I wanted to check with the folks in this sub on their opinion of buying an 8 year old vehicle. I know I will have to do the timing belt soon as I can't imagine it's been done yet. Any red warnings with this particular year/model? It's the 2.0L I know that. Any guidance would be great, I'm a VW noob! Thanks guys.
