My local VW Club, http://www.dubsnorth.com had their first annual Dyno Day this past Saturday, May 22, 2004. The event was a big success, with the running of 29 different cars on the Dyno. The event was co-sponsored by http://www.fastaddiction.com, http://www.jatuning.com and http://www.dubaholics.ca/ out of Montréal, they brought down about 10 Dubs to the event and had a few dyno.
------------------------------------
Here are the Numbers on my 20th:
HP - 213 @ 6541 RPM
TQ - 203 ft/lbs
Top Speed - 169 MPH (Top Speed Run was an option on the Dyno, not done on the street or track)

Mods Installed
Carbonio Cold Air Intake
PIAA Plasma Ion Yellow City Lights
Vanity Plates “GTI20AE”
Golf Monster Mats
Disabled Daytime Running Lights
Alpine CDA-9815 Head unit
Euro Headlight Switch
Diesel Geek Race Short Shifter
Neuspeed 28mm Rear Sway Bar
16” Beetle Steel Rims with Hakkapelita 2 Tires (Winter Setup)
Forge 007 Polished Diverter Valve
Mintex Red Box Brake Pads
AWE Tuning Boost Gauge in NewSouth Performance Column Mount
Rear Fog light
Rockford Fosgate 10” HE2 Subwoofer * 2
Rockford Fosgate 700s Amp
Rockford Fosgate 1-Farad Capacitor
Rockford Fosgate Competition Series Wiring
Stinger Distribution Blocks
Custom Subwoofer Enclosure
GHL 3” Turbo-Back Exhaust
VF-Engineering Heavy Duty Rear Engine Mount
APR ECU Programming – 93 Octane + Stock
“J” Series Waste Gate Valve – “N75 Valve”
Some Highlights:
- 1 police car showed up, pulled in, backed out and left without saying a word
- Most HP/TQ numbers were layed down by a Camaro with ~360-370 on both
- Lowest numbers were put down by a 1991 GTi 8v @ 55 HP
- The Dyno skipped or did something, but on a MKIV GTi 1.8T, which did a burnout while running, said it layed numbers down of 350+ HP... but the 2nd run came back down to Earth with numbers in the 220 HP range on the stock turbo
- A top speed run was available for 5 bucks more, top speed was put down by a Supercharged VR6 GTi out of Canada at 173 mph
- A MKII Jetta Coupe VR6T could not stay on the dyno, kept pulling itself off the back rollers...It was even being held back with tie-downs to a Jeep behind...Highest numbers seen off it was 280 HP, with the wheels doing a burnout, so there was plenty more power there
- MKIII Jetta SCVR6 had a wheel weight come flying off and disappeared like a bullet to where ever
- A grill was set up cooking free hamburgers and Hot dogs.
- A DJ was playing some tunes, followed by a local band later

Re: (Hetzen)

Good numbers. Figured torque would be alot higher then hp. Anyone know why his torque was so low? I have ssen dynos of APR 93 with 188 hp and 214 torque.

So basically the performance mods you have installed are cai, 3 inch tb, n75j, apr 93, and dv? That is a good run. Are those the normal numbers being put down with those mods? Seems like a lot.

Those numbers seemed to be right in range with the other 1.8T's that were dynoed.
The top speed run was just on the Dyno, with no wind resistence..I don't know what it was boosting at, because I was not in the car, I was taking the pics, but still, a fun thing to know

any use of 100 octane gas? diode? and a pic of the actual graph?
hp seems good, torque not so good; but maybe thats good torque for apr. I thought apr had better torque #'s than that though, but its possible that your intake is taking away some of your torque.

Without wind resistance and rolling resistance, your top speed is just a factor of your gearing, wheels, and RPM limit. Good run though! The 'top speed' thing just seems kinda hokey.
