I just came back from my dealer the other day and was sitting in the 20AE they had in the showroom and for some odd reason, I like my 03 GTI seats BETTER then the 20AE's. Does anybody else think this way or is there some benefit the seats extoll once you start driving that my 03 GTI ones don't have?

Re: 20th AE seats vs. 03 GTI (immortal_mc)

After sitting in a 20AE, I'd say its seats are better for fast driving because they're snugger and better-bolstered. The flip side of that is that they might feel too confining for everyday driving. For me, the '03 sport seats are the right compromise -- comfy for regular driving, but still decently supportive when you pick up the pace.
Interesting observation, though.

I drive my 20AE for 30 mins in rush hour sometimes and I find that I never have an issue with my seats plus when I want to take that turn at 50 i'm held well. I know that "sitting in the seats" will give you some idea but trust me they are quite comfy seats. Plus, I'd be willing to take some back pain for the awesome GTI and Recaro embroidering. I'm sure the '03 seats are good too but just wanted to shed some light on the Recaros.

20AE/25TH recaro's are just plain sick. still love them....my only regret is there are no holes for harnesses built in. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

I definitely prefer the 337/20AE Recaros. I would love to pick up a black leather seat, it would really add to my interior.
I haven't driven with them, but sitting them in the dealership showrooms, I love them. I happen to be skinny enough that they PERFECTLY hug my sides...and it's a feeling that I love. While the 2002-onward GTI sport seats are good, they aren't as good as the Recaros, in my opinion.
