20th Anniversary Golf r hatch

My 40th GTI came with an OEM VAG warning triangle installed. First VW I've bought outside of Germany that had it installed - had to literally sit down for a minute to collect myself after I saw it 😂

Its also law in Germany to have a first aid kit and safety vest in the vehicle (also the first time I've had those in a VW I bought outside of Germany) and if you're the first one at the scene of an accident you are also to required to stop and assist the best you can.

As for traffic laws in Germany, for the most part, they're very simple and straight forward - not a lot of grey area like we tend to have on this side of the Atlantic. When it comes to safety on the roadway, they don't monkey around and that is one of the reasons why the Autobahn is safer compared to other countries highway systems.

I also got the warning triangle, first aid kit and safety vest in my 20th R. Glad I didn't try to pre-order one.

I think not getting them is an American thing. Getting them is an everybody else thing.

I'm thinking they must have just put them in by mistake at the factory lol or maybe its part of the 20th/40th package 😂

Better chance that the dealer stuck one in and charged you for it. Do you still have the window sticker?

Yeah, could be. I only paid $999 over MSRP but that was for the trunk liner, monster mats and dealer fee - no mention of safety equipment. With the first aid kid, I've had that before where they put in the roadside assistance/first aid kit, but never the actual factory style first aid kit.

It's part of the package for the 20th Anniversary in Canada and USA. (vest, triangle, first aid).

That would be awesome if you could. Seeing that the 20th/40th trim levels were only on VV.CA for like 2 days, its hard to get official documentation of actual features lol.
