225 18t swap

will longitudinally mounted audi motor(225 tt)fit straight into golf4 turbo? is it worth doing? or am i safer just getting the big turbo,dp, intake,etc.( when i say fit straight in i mean swung round to mount transversely)

Audi TT is a transverse motor. You'd need to have specially designed transimssion to fit into the GTI. Look for Gary H on this board - he has a "Golf TT" so to say.

golf/jetta engines are transverse. audi a4 and passats are longitudinal.

Yes, but he's are talking about the Audi TT, not the Passat or A4....

but as he says the golf and bora are trans so it will fit because the TT is transverse as well. Gary Handa has used the TT's six speed box as well. But be aware this is not a cheap conversion.
