225/40/18 or 235/40/18 on 18 x 8.5 wheel

I have a 99 B5 which is lowered.I would like your opinions on what size tire to go with.Is the 225 too narrow or is the 235 going to rub.Thanks Mark

225 will be fine!
235 should be alright as well, might rub a little (depending on the offset, and on the suspension you have)
