Re: 235/40/16 fit on a 16 by 9 inch rim with 15 offset? (VR6guy)

With that little of an offset, it's going to rub a *lot* on a G60 unless you do some serious modifications to the outer fender. I have 225/40-16's on 8" wide rims with 18mm offset, and I had to cut out the fender lips out completely from the front and rear in order for them to fit.

Re: 235/40/16 fit on a 16 by 9 inch rim with 15 offset? (joeZX6)

I got 16x7.5 with 205/45/16 and they stick to the road like glue!! as for the rub issue...I'm still trying to determine if they really rub...I believe slightly when I turn the wheel u-turn style..but then again it seems like it is only on the one side that was ever so slightly hit in the front by the bumber. Anyone have these size tires let me know because It is too hard for me to tell....so far no problems and she be haulin assssss and takin crazy turns ++++80... and I mean crazy turns!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was running 9x16s with 215/40 (everything other tire looks stupid on it) and had no probs with rubbing at all after slightly rolling the fenders. I´ll search for a pic this afternoon and post it, okay?

Weitec height adjustable coilovers (really sucks)...
They´re not Tresers, if I ever find a pair, ít´s going to be well-locked in my room, believe me, only 10 sets were ever made, I heard a rumour 9 of them have gone over the ocean over the years, can´t find a single set her in europe, and I know a lot of poeple driving that car...

In my original reply, I failed to pick up on the fact that you were talking about a G60, which has slightly narrower fenders than the VR6. You'll never get even 225s under those fenders without any rolling. 235s.......forget it completely. I wouldn't push it any farther than 215s with a G60.

This goes against everything I know about Corrados---does he realize that G60s have narrower fenders than the VR6s? Many people do not, it is between 8 and 10mm less. You "might" be able to pull this off if the car isn't lowered, but that would look retarded. I'm not trying to be a prick or a naysayer here but rather just trying to help a Corrado owner prevent a serious headache. I'm going on record and saying that you cannot fit 225 series tires on 9" wide rim to a G60 Corrado, lower it at all and experience NO rubbing without fender mods. Has anyone pulled this off? If so, chime in and tell me I'm wrong but until then, I'd hold off on spending all that dough for now.......

Re: 235/40/16 fit on a 16 by 9 inch rim with 15 offset? (VR6guy)

Like I said before, I only have 8" wide rims w/ 225/40-16's, 18mm ET, and I had to modify the hell out of the fenders to fit them. My car is lowered 2.5" on Spax linear rate racing springs with Koni adjustables, stiff as hell and they'd still rub in the back even with the mods until I modified some supplemental springs to go in the rear struts and stiffen it up even more.

Re: 235/40/16 fit on a 16 by 9 inch rim with 15 offset? (g60racer)

No way. Fits in the back with 225/40-16 and a 15mm offset, but not in the front, as I said I was running 9x16 ET15 with 215/40-16 and I didn´t had to roll the fenders, but I did it for security reasons, I didn´t had to widen them either, but 225/40s stick out way too far up front. And for the VR6 guys. The G60 easily can house 9x16 ET15 up front, the VR6 can´t, because it has a wider track going with the wider fenders, I did the 5-lug conversion and even with the wider fenders 9x16 ET15 don´t fit, believe me. Nobody over here owning a VR6 without widened fenders is able to drive 9x16s...
