Hey All! I have a set of OEM rims off an A5 that I’m struggling to sell, so I thought maybe I could repurpose them on my ‘11 Jetta TDI. I’m by no means a tire expert, so I wanted to get your thoughts on if this could work at all? I do not intend to lower the suspension in the future, and so I just want to make sure that in it’s stock configuration with 245/40s that there will not be any rubbing. Also I believe that these rims have a 29mm offset. Has anyone done this before? Will this work?

Should work just fine. That’s the size they use on the GLI. Give one a test fit to make sure but most likely yes

Pretty sure the GLI used a 225/40r18, so this is a bit taller. Your speedo, etc will be off a bit. Not sure about the width. Probably depends on your suspension.

Thanks for the inputs guys! I will probably have to check with one of the tires for fitment and then see if I want to proceed with those rims. Definitely concerning though about the speedometer issue.
