Well...... never say never.... but it's looking pretty doubtful.
Besides, logically wouldnt they only make these for a year?
Kinda limits the amount of time they have to hurry up and get it here. Although I do see the possibility of something similar being offered at a later date

Yes. I have it on good authority that it is coming. However it will be the 20th anniversary of the GTI here, so it might be renamed... Hopefully the car will be mostly the same though.

I'm guessing it will be a wolfsburg or driver's edition, since it can't possibly make it here on time for the 25th anniversary.

There will most likely be a 20th Anniversary edition offered here as a 2003 model. In the mean time a different name will have to be used for the units that are supposed to be available 1st quarter of next year - Drivers Edition, Turbo S, whatever... either way it is coming.

Yeah...that'll be their excuse. It was too difficult for a multi multi million dollar company with tens of thousands of employees and high-paid engineers to install a U.S.-spec bumper on it and slightly modify the emissions. I can't even IMAGINE how long that would take!
