Re: 276 cam users post your dyno graphs (joeZX6)

Hi Joe,
Sorry don't have a dyno but read my post at
http://www.vwclub.co.za/forum/forum.asp?id=1
Entitled "RESULTS! Kent 270 vs SportaCam 276 ".
There is no dyno graph but a comparison of outputs as well as my driving impressions. The 276 is by far the most popular CAM in South Africa so post any questions you have there and you will get a better response than here.
BTW - multiply those HP figures by 20% for a comparison of HP at sea level. Multiply by another 15% to convert to power at the flywheel.
i.e. 100hp wheel quoted is equivalent to 120hp wheel at sea level and 135 at the flywheel. All approx. of course but gives you an idea.

Hope that helps.
Cheers
Antony

Who's. 276 is just an arbitrary advertised number that may or may not refer to the actual duration of the cam. Many cam makers use deceptive advertising numbers to name a cam while it tells you absolutely nothing about the cams size or performance.
To answer your question we need to know what manufacturers 276 you are referring to.
For specs on many cams refer to http://joserotger.hypermart.net/camshaft.htm
If the link doesn't work try opening a new window and linking rom there. It worked for me.

Mine is a Schrick 276.
11,5 lift 276/276/110 Duration.
Does that help?

Yeah, I was also wondering about the TT 276 hydro, any experiences with it. Maybe techtonics has a dyno graph? Supposed to add 10 hp, I know the bottom end would be soft unless you had a high compression 2 liter. Heard that for an all around good hydro cam, the 272 schrick assymetric works well on 1.8 high compression motors, strong power from 2000-6500 rpms. If you have larger displacement and a ported head and higher compression, you can go bigger.

That sounds like what I would expect Glen.
