I am looking for a bigger cam (currently using schrick 272) I am looking at Schrick or neuspeed 276 or Catcams 282.
Does anyone have the specification for schrick 272?
Here is the info for 276 and catcams 282
Neuspeed/ schrick 276 duration @0.05 = 234 lift = 0.453
Catcams 282 duration @0.05= 240 lift = 0.452
Schrick 272 ? ? lift= 0.448
right now my max hp is at 5600 rpm. I want to push it to 6000 or 6500 rpm.

Re: 282 Catcams for 8v (kickster)

Are you sure it's the cam that restricting your engine? The reason I ask is my peak power is at 5900 rpm and I'm just running a puny g-grind.

Re: 282 Catcams for 8v (ABA Scirocco)

Whats your power output? My Torque is around 120+ from 2500 all the way to 4500 (127 Tq then it drops. My hp drops after 5600.
My exhaust is not restricting at all. I am using brospeed header port matched to the head, no cat, 2.25" TT piping. Intake side, I am running open box, K&N filter with digifant TB (the biggest for my car). The head has a mild port job with intake ports matched to intake runners.
I should note that I am running 3+ advance (cam gear).
If you have a dyno graph please post it up so I can see your power band.

Re: 282 Catcams for 8v (kickster)

At the time of the dyno run I had an ABA block, 10.3:1 C.R., JH head with minor headwork (port match, unshroud etc) Dual outlet exhaust manifold with TT down pipe, stock sized cat-back exhaust of unknown origin, stock CIS-Lambda injection. My car wasn't running particularly well the day I dynoed it, I had a minor fueling problem and a bad right front wheel bearing at the time.
I can't find the scan of my dyno chart, I think I lost it when I got a new computer
But here are the #'s
@3500, 70hp, 105tq
@4000, 79hp, 104tq
@4500, 87hp, 101tq
@5000, 93hp, 98tq
@5500, 98hp. 94tq
@6000, 99hp, 87tq
@6500, 90hp, 73tq
Peak whp 101hp @ 5900, peak tq 107 @3400

Kickster, putting the cam timing back to stock will raise your power peak a few hundred RPM but you'll lose a tad of low end that you're currently seeing.

I am going to play with my cam timing while I am on dyno. My butt-dyno is not working too well.

Stock ECU with modified water temp sensor provided the most power.

Is it me or does it look like the stock digi chip puts out the most hp and torque??

Please tell me how you modded the water sensor? I'd like to do that myself! http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
I take it you're tricking the computer into thinking the water is colder than it is so richer mixture?
