Re: 2L 16v motronic swapped into an mk1 (roccospeed)
I assume you mean CIS-E Motronic. You can adapt your A1 to Passenger's side injection (A2 style) and use all the bits from the 2L 16V cars (1990 - 1992 Golf/Jetta 16V, 1990 - 1993 Passat 16V) - that would be the easiest for a swap although you still need the A1 16V (Rocco) exhaust manifold or a 16V for A1 header and to relocate the fuel lines. If you intend to stay A1 (driver's side injection) you would need parts from the 16V Rocco (injection bits like airbox, lines, inatke/exhaust manifolds) and the parts from the donor 2L (airflow meter assembly bolts to A1 airbox, A1 lines to A2 fuel distributor, get adaptors to mount A2 injectors to A1 lines), rest of swap is pretty much A2 2L 16V.
My little hybrid started out a CIS-E Jetronic 1.8L 16V (Rocco), then I added the CIS-E Motronic parts from a donor Passat later in life for the current setup - works pretty well but if I were to do it again I would swap to passenger's side as parts are far more available.
