I know this has been gone over before but I need a source for these.
I changed the oil in my 2.0l last week and found sand---aka bearings in the oil. The motor was completely rebuilt in August and has 6000 miles on it. Plastigauged and every bearing replaced.....
I have not dropped the pan yet to check but it is likely that the one-peice main bearing that I used is disintegrating like it has for so many others.
I will drop the pan in the next week or so and check.
Thanks

Re: 3 peice thrust bearings... (GTi Dancer)

When you built the motor, did you check the end play? You're supposed to whack the clutch end of the crank with a mallet to seat that bearing properly, then check endplay. Otherwise the pressure from the clutch engaging and disengaging pushes the crank against that bearing and ruins it.
BTW, I think you can get the 3 piece from eurosportacc.com

Re: 3 peice thrust bearings... (ValveCoverGasket)

The three pieces are preferable, but if you use them right, the cheapies are fine. My friend uses them on his production class road race engines. ~140 hp from a 1.5L
